ARTIST STATEMENT
This series is about a point on the mortal cycle of life. The butterfly is used as a spiritual metaphor for a winged angel and the beyond. But in some cases these beautiful spirits are quite menacing and threatening and can appear to be swarming, biting, and even can appear to be sucking the life energy out of this elderly body. In these allegories, the butterflies are harbingers from another realm come to claim their nector.
